Daily Assets Newspaper Ltd has awarded on the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai as Daily Assets Newspaper ‘Man of the year’.
The award, according to the statement by Col. Sagir Musa,
Acting Director ,Army Public Relations, was given today by the Publishers of Daily Assets to the Nigeria’s Army boss in Abuja.
The award was in a recognition of the army leader’s immense and track record of achievement in maintaining the internal security as well as territorial integrity of the country.
According to the statement, Buratai’s name was carefully selected after critically examining and considering his immense contributions to the fight against banditry, insurgency and terrorism in Nigeria.
In their separate remarks and goodwill messages, both speakers commended the dedication, professionalism and commitment of Gen. Buratai in ensuring peace and security in Nigeria as well as transforming the Nigerian Army to one of the very best on the African continent.
Enugu Reporters’ correspondent gathered that, the Director Civil Military Affairs, in the Department of Civil-Military Affairs, Army Headquarters Abuja Brig Gen TO Olowomeye received the award on behalf of the COAS.
The event was attended by eminent personalities from all works of life including the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmed Lawan represented by Senator Bello Mandiya of Katsina South Senatorial District and Senator Gabriel Suswan who was the Chairman of the occasion, as well as the representative of the Benue state Governor, among others.
