Report say, the Depot Nigerian Army has distributed medical kits to some host communities of the institution
Captain Audu Arigu, the Assistant Director Public Relations of Depot Nigerian Army made this known to Enugu Reporters on Thursday.
According to Captain Arigu this gesture by the Army was to compliment the efforts to forestalling the spread of Corona Virus in Zazzau Emirate Council, the host communities.
According him, the Commandant Depot Nigerian Army Maj Gen Sani Mohammed has given approval and directed the distribution of preventive kits against Covid-19 to Kakanji and Karau-Karau communities which play host to Depot Nigerian Army field training area.
“The Commandant said the gesture was part of the Nigerian Army contribution under the leadership of Lt Gen Tukur Buratai aimed at complimenting the effort of the Federal Government in tackling the spread of Corona Virus pandemic and also strengthening the civil-military relationship that existed between Depot Nigerian Army and the host communities over the years.
Gen Mohammed further enjoined the community to abide by the rules of Covid-19 lockdown by the Government.
The Acting Commanding Officer Depot Nigerian Army Medical Centre, Captain Manasseh Barde sensitized the communities on the need to regularly wash their hands, keep good personal hygiene and report to the nearest medical facility when they experience any symptoms of Covid-19 to prevent further spread of the virus.
Highlight of the event includes the handing over of the items to the community leaders by the Chief of Staff Depot Nigerian Army Col. Ismail Oloyede on behalf of the Commandant and vote of thanks by Alhaji Ibrahim Isyaku the village head of Karau-Karau.
