Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke Eliminate Bandit in a Raid, Recover Weapons

The Defence Media Operations has said, troops of Operation Whirl Stroke under Operation Accord in a raid operation conducted on 20 June 2020 on suspected bandits hideout had neutralised a bandit while many of them escaped with various degrees of injuries.

This was followed by reports of bandits’ activities around Ginde area of Saghev Council Ward, Guma LGA of Benue State by the troops of Sector 2 deployed at Tomatar.

Coordinator,Defence Media Operations (DMO),Defence Headquarters in a statement issued on Sunday to Enugu Reporters said, the bandits fled as troops closed in on them, but following a hot pursuit on the criminals,one bandit was killed by the troops while
others escaped with gunshot wounds.

Some of the items recovered ,according to Enenche include; one Galil rifle, one Galil magazine, quantity 13 X 7.5mm ammunition, one Motorcycle one woodland camouflage shirt, some quantities of Indian Hemp and assorted charms.

He said, the camp was subsequently destroyed by the troops.

Gen. Enenche also said another operation done by the troops deployed at Tunga responded to a kidnap incident of a local Teacher at Foga LGA and arrested 2 suspects; Yahuza Danlami and Danladi Baushe, who were linked to the incident. A locally made rifle was found in their possession.

He said, the suspects have been handed over to the Nigerian Police at Awe for investigations.

“The Defence Headquarters commend the troops for their offensive actions against the bandits and other criminal elements in their area of operation”. He added
