The Nigerian Army (NA), Thursday ,engaged with students of Diasies Academy, at the Army Headquarters Conference Hall, showcasing its significant contributions to national security and peacekeeping efforts worldwide.
Director Army Public Relations Major General Onyema Nwachukwu in a statement said the event aimed to educate the young minds about the NA’s efforts in maintaining peace and stability in the country.
Addressing the students, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, emphasized the army’s commitment to protecting the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The COAS, represented by Brigadier Adebayo Babalola, highlighted the army’s participation in international peacekeeping missions, combating insecurity and terrorism, and providing support to civil authorities. He encouraged the students to prioritize their academics to earn a place in the Armed Forces, describing the military as a noble profession requiring discipline and patriotism.
The team leader and Director of Diasies Academy, Mrs. Joy Obiora, praised the NA for its sacrifices and efforts in protecting Nigeria’s territorial integrity and tackling contemporary security challenges. She lauded the COAS’s leadership role and noted that the visit will have a lasting impact on the students, inspiring them to become future leaders.
The event featured a documentary on the NA’s history, career prospects, and an interactive session.
