The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa yesterday addressed the graduating class of the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) Special Operations Forces at the Headquarters National Mission Force in Bida, Niger State.
According to the Director Defence Information Brigadier General Tukur Gusau said General Musa emphasized the importance of staying humble and hungry for success, urging the graduates to remain true to the values and principles instilled in them through their rigorous training.
He praised the graduates’ resilience, citing it as evidence of the professionalism imparted by their trainers.
The CDS applauded their transformation into skilled warriors, capable of protecting the nation. He reminded them that their skills extend beyond combat, encompassing passion, empathy, and understanding for the people they serve.

The graduation ceremony marked the culmination of a 13-week extensive training programme that began in January 2024. The programme equipped 124 graduates, comprising nine officers and 136 soldiers, with specialized fighting skills and tactics.
General Musa conveyed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s appreciation for the troops’ commitment to duty. He also commended their outstanding performance at the recently concluded Warriors Competition in Jordan.
Earlier, the Commander of the DHQ Special Forces Brigade, Brigadier General IM Falana expressed gratitude to General Musa for his unwavering commitment to training and welfare. He attributed the brigade’s successes to the CDS’s passion and leadership, pledging the brigade’s loyalty to the CDS and the nation.
The event showcased General Musa’s resolve to establish a well-trained and professional Armed Forces, ensuring Nigeria’s security and stability.
