The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa OFR, has extended heartfelt condolences to His Excellency, Governor Umo Bassey Eno of Akwa Ibom State, and the people of Akwa Ibom, following the sudden passing of his wife, Her Excellency Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno.
Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, Director Defence Information relayed this in a statement on Friday.
General Musa expressed deep sadness, stating that the news came as a shock wave, leaving a significant void in Governor Eno’s family and the state, considering her invaluable contributions since Governor Eno’s administration began.
General Musa reminisced about the legacies of Her Excellency noting that she was more than just a wife; she was a trusted ally and partner to Governor Eno.
He emphasized that her dedication to enhancing the lives of Akwa Ibom’s children, youth, and vulnerable persons through her ‘Golden Initiative for All (GIFA)’ will be fondly remembered.
General Musa urged Governor Eno to find solace in the fact that, as mortals, we have hope beyond this life.
He prayed that Almighty God grants the governor, his family, and the people of Akwa Ibom the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
The CDS, on behalf of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN), shared in Governor Eno’s grief, offering words of comfort and support during this difficult time.
Recall that the news of the passing of Her Excellency Mrs Patience Eno came in the early hours of Friday. President Bola Tinubu, as well as many other well-meaning Nigerians, had also extended their condolences to Governor Eno.
This heartfelt condolence message reflects the outpouring of support for Governor Eno and his family during this challenging time.
