Just in: Troops of 6 Division foil major fire outbreak in Port Harcourt

In a daring display of swift action and community dedication, troops from the Nigerian Army’s 6 Division prevented a catastrophic fire outbreak today in Port Harcourt.
According to a statement issued by the Acting Deputy Director 6 Division Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Danjuma Jonah Danjuma said the crisis was triggered when a tanker carrying premium motor spirit overturned at Rumuokwuta Roundabout.

Consequently on the report, the Acting Commanding Officer, 760 Transport Battalion, Major Almustapha Shawwal Adams rapidly mobilized the 6 Division Fire Crew to contain the situation.

He noted that troops in collaboration with sister agencies, ensured strict adherence to safety protocols, cordoned off the area, and executed preventive drills.

He said their prompt response, brought the situation under control with no lives or property lost.
This successful intervention demonstrates the Nigerian Army’s commitment to strengthening Civil-Military relations and supporting host communities.

General Officer Commanding 6 Division, Major General Jamal Abdussalam has lauded the troops’ swift action, reaffirming the division’s dedication to people-centric operations aligned with Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja’s command philosophy.

Enugu Reporters learnt that the Nigerian Army’s timely intervention underscores their resolve to protect lives and property, bolstering trust and cooperation with the community.
