Just in: New Commandant takes helm at Nigerian Army Armour School

Major General Abubakar Ahmed has assumed command as the 16th Commandant of the Nigerian Army Armour School (NAAS) in Bauchi, marking a new chapter in the school’s command history.

The Handing and Taking Over ceremony, held at the NAAS Headquarters in Obienu Barracks, Bauchi State on Tuesday where Major General Ahmad succeeded his predecessor, Major General Adekunle Adekeye who has been deployed to Army Headquarters Department of Army Standards and Evaluation as the Deputy Chief of Army Standards and Evaluation (Combat Readiness and Safety)

In his farewell address, the outgoing Commandant, Major General Adekeye expressed gratitude to the officers and soldiers for their unwavering support during his tour of duty. He urged them to maintain their commitment and discipline, expressing confidence in Major General Ahmed’s ability to lead the school to greater achievements.

In his maiden address, the new Commandant commended his predecessor’s outstanding achievements and pledged to maintain the standard and strive for excellence.

Major General Ahmed also wished Major General Adekeye success in his new appointment as Deputy Chief of Army Standards and Evaluation (Combat Readiness & Safety) at Army Headquarters.

Highpoints of the event were the signing of handing and taking over notes, symbolic handing over of the Command flag and insignia.

Enugu Reporters reports that with Major General Ahmed at the helm, the NAAS is poised for continued growth and excellence.
